Wish you a happy journey!

Change is life
The russet autumn leaves fall
and the spring brings
to the branches
an exuberance of hues,
a profusion of blooms,
a fragrance lingering
on the waft of the air.
The dusk envelops
the ambiance
in the mystery
of its all-consuming dark
for the horizon to shine
with a new brilliance
at the dawn.
The snow thickens
on the mountains
and the green
and the yellow
and the crimson
disappear into
an endless white,
the birds desert
their nests
in a waiting
for another sunshine.

Change is continuity,
a ceaseless flux.
A journey from one dream
to another,
one hope to another.
And one year to another.
Wish you a happy journey.

Happy New Year to all! May the year be a wonderful one, full of happiness, peace and good health! It's time to let go of some things and take some lessons ahead, and put them into action.

As for studies, ahem, let's not talk of it. Going on at its own sweet pace. But my exams are next year na, so no worry! Hope all of you are doing great, am missing all your blogs and wish to back very soon. Till then, take care and Happy New Year once again! And don't forget to pray for me! Thanks. : )

Taking a break

Around two weeks to go for my exams! And I am so scared that I'd put a scare-o-meter to shame! So, am planning to take a break from blogville. My exams finish on the January 19, so will be able to meet you all only after that. :'(

I will definitely try to drop in sometime in between just to update you all, but a reply to the comments cannot be promised. I will so miss all of you, but when I come back, I promise to catch up on all that I've missed. : )

So, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you in advance! I hope the new year brings with it a lot of happiness and cheer, and leaves behind special memories. : )

Wish me luck, and please please pray for me! I need it badly!

See you all soon! Will miss you! And try to miss me too! LOL! ; )

PS - Happy Birthday Bhawana! I know it's not exactly your birthday now, but just in case I am unable to make it. Have a great year girl and always be the same beautiful person that you are! : )

All that the week was

Good news! Good news! My sister (cousin) is getting married!! The wedding date is yet to be decided. The nichyadaartham (engagement) is this weekend. I am so happy for her! Yaay! : )

College's going OK too. It seems we are keen on creating a world record of 3 marathon weeks of tests and assignments! As on this date, this marathon should end on the coming Wednesday, the 17th. Hopefully.

Less than a month to go for my exams! And the worst bit is that all the exams are on consecutive days! For someone who hasn't touched the books till now, it's a little hard to digest. My brand new books sit neatly on my study table, giving me that wicked grin! I can almost hear them say "Ab bachke kahaan jaoge?" !

Photography class is drawing to a close too. Sad. The Advance course can wait, I'll do it only after I have the proper equipment. Enough of borrowed SLRs! I don't know what to take up after this is over. Any suggestions?

On the movie front, I caught up with two old classics. Ijaazat by Sampooran Singh Gulzar...that's Gulzar saab, and Khoobsurat by Hrishikesh Mukherjee (One of my favorites)

Ijaazat - A very mature film, perhaps even ahead of its times. Naseeruddin Shah in one of his career best performances. He plays a photographer in the movie. (I could relate to the scenes of the dark room...that's exactly what we do in the photography class) Rekha gives a very subdued performance, very restrained. And Anuradha Patel also chips in with a great act, of the maverick girl. (I could somehow see my reflection in her) The music is by R.D.Burman, and needless to say, great! Khali haath shaam aayi hai is my personal favorite.

Khoobsurat - Another Rekha starrer. I admire her supreme talent, how effortlessly she gets into different characters. Her character in this film is that of a very bubbly, happy-go-lucky and cheerful girl, in complete contrast to the one in Ijaazat. It revolves around a family which is run in a very militarian fashion and how things slowly change. Ashok Kumar Ganguly plays a very sweet character, and Dina Pathak is excellent as the stern mother. The music, again by R.D.Burman is a treat! A very well deserved Filmfare award for the Best film and the Best Actress.

That sums up all that this week was. Have a great weekend! : )

To you, My Dear Friend!

My Dear Friend

Yesterday, I was getting late for college as I was looking for my scarf. As I looked through my cupboard, and pulled all the clothes down, on the top of the heap lay one piece of cloth, a piece of history. Each wrinkle on it whispered of a memory, a cherished one. The faded color reminded me of how we had evolved over the years. There lay my school shirt, my heart still beating in its pocket.

I remember the last day of school. We were all running around collecting slam sheets, slam books, clearing the lockers, clicking photos, wishing luck, hugging, ensuring that nothing was left behind.

I know something was. Something we could never collect...

The endless sessions of dumb charades, the waiting at the brownie counter for sale to begin, the innumerable sambar vadas munched up in the canteen, the long strolls on warm winter mornings, that mindless chatter, those careless giggles, broken hearts, mended hearts, again broken hearts, again mended hearts, crushed crushes, flourishing crushes, that random breaking into a song, that leg pulling, that hide and seek, hiding behind the Biology lab, that preserving of bills, those sweet messages behind those bills, those movies watched, those silly jokes cracked, "How do you put the elephant in the fridge?"~"Open the fridge and put it!", Lol!, that oonch neech ka papda, those hair styling sessions, those hair care and skin care tips, those "pun intended" dialogues, those double meaning dialogues, that beatboxing, those confessions, those naughty grins, those sweet SMSes, that running behind the teachers for doubts, those long untiring fights for that half a mark, the jitters before the results, those truths revealed, that borrowing of blazers, those skits prepared, the Sholay remake, those first day first shows, those little chits of sweet messages, the endless carrot cake that aunty would make so sweetly, those cups of coffee, that gun powder...the one you have with idlis, hehe, masala dosas, overboiled beans, that copying of teachers, how they'd laugh, the flamingos, Chi chi, that Shanta ben, those songs transferred, those pictures clicked, those pranks on other people, those apologies after the pranks, hehe, those little misunderstandings, that laughing over it later, that badminton played, those misplaced shuttle cocks, that sweet "Frank"ness, haha, Dugs fan, SRK fan, ceiling fan, lol!, those birthday parties, fancy dress, those class tests, that cheating, furra, hehe, that getting caught, "First time ma'am!", Liar!, that solving of doubts, "As if", those auto rides, four people, one auto, extra classes, warning the auto driver "Bhaiya! Khatarnaak raasta hai, mat jao" in an effort to dissuade him, hehee, that group study, Malayali music, peppy beats, those long phone chats, sharing gossip, a piece of each other, that "Best of Luck!" during exams, looking around the class for that familiar face, that swinging of chairs, the jumping from the windows, those tears shed, those tears wiped, that enacting of movie scenes, that ever smiling security guard uncle, "How will you put the giraffe in the fridge?"~"Simple. Take out the elephant and put the giraffe in!", God!, those little cards, that giving of "out of the world" movies in dumb charades, Howrah Bridge, what not, truth and dare, pen fights, "I want that heavy pen!", those lovely dance performances, those loud shrieky seetis, that signature step, two thuds and a V shown to the world, hustle, bustle, loyalty, those little pups, respect, those cute cats, the assemblies, the speeches, the backstage drama, the cheering, the annual day, that ignoring, hehe, the only sir in eleventh, weird, Golden Guide and all that crap, "Myself RC", haha, those cartoons made, the limitless sketches, portraits, that waiting for break, that just lazing around, those lectures, the twitched eyebrow, that imitating that expression, the raised eyebrow, that "Xerox machines, all of you!", photocopying perpetually, keval buttery bittery coffee, haha!, the assignments, the chalk and duster, locker keys, cellphones, "Aaa! Bag checking!", the Essel World, haha, Moonsilk shampoo, the daily newspaper collection, sudokus, astrological predictions,"Oohoo", the incessant coughing, those dimples, Kutta khansi, TB patients, hehe, "There was a meeting of the animal kingdom. Which animal was absent?"~"Arey! The Giraffe na, poor fellow was in the fridge!", haha, hehe, long hair, small eyes that close when the person smiles, requirements of a certain person, umm...hehe, those stomach aches after so much laughing, "You were born mad and you will die mad!" a little girl shouting, "And in between also, I'll be mad" that adding of that phrase that made the little girl laugh, bas....aen, that patting of the back "Control yaar!", that dusting of the back "Jhaad!", lol, cough cough, the fisherwoman hairstyle, "Just joking around only OK!", "Itna mat le yaar!", that bunking classes, that being seen and entering class with a foolish grin, "I thought I didn't have a best friend.....now I know I do!", awww!, those kites, our dreams flying with them, higher, mwahs, those "I will switch off the lights!", "What's the next period?", tick tick one, tick tick two, those forwards, "Where do you take the bus from?"~"From the ground!", ahem ahem, hehe, PJ!, that pulling of cheeks, those sprouts, those two cookies, that "Essence", cough cough, cough some more.....................

These are just a few of the so many memories that I carry, deep inside that pocket. May be our laughs still reverberate in that beautiful classroom, may be children still hide behind the Biology lab, and may be that half a mark is still fought for.

May be.

There are so many people we meet along the journey of life, but few who leave a lasting impression on our minds. I want to tell you just one thing friend.

Thank you for who you are and all that you mean to me. Thank you for believing in me, and making me believe in myself. Thank you for everything!

My warmest thanks to all of you - IR, JK, MA, NS and SN!! : )

I wiped my tears on the shirt, put it back neatly and left.

Your friend
Tara

If only...

I asked you
If you still loved me
Your silence...
was deafening

I know
I've never told you
How much I do
I always thought
You'd know

Perhaps, I was wrong...

That sand with which
castles were built
was slowly
slipping out of my hands

And now when
my hands are bare
I realize how much
I have lost

I wish it could be
the way it was.
Ah! I wish...

Photos don't speak,
do they?

Where I was, where I am, where I wish to be....

I have been tagged by both Praveen and Ushaji. Thank you so much! So here goes.......

Two questions from the past, present and future. Answer them and then tag your friends from the blog-o-sphere. Leave a comment on their blog letting them know they have been tagged .

Yesterday

-Your oldest memories

This goes back a long time! When I was born, on a Thursday evening, I am told, that I didn’t cry at all, I was observing the world, with my big eyes! As a child I was very fond of sapotas (also known as Chiku in Hindi) (I still am ;). I was so fond of it, that I wouldn’t even let paati (grandmother) peel it fully and would snatch it from her hands…and I was all of 6 months! I would have an elaborate bathing session, first the oiling with paati, the actual bathing with amma, and the sambrani (loban in Hindi) for drying my hair with appa.

I knew how to hold things, but I didn’t know how to put them back! So, every time I’d get hold of something, and not knowing how to keep it, I’d start that slight moaning, which was an indication to my family and they’d come to my rescue! We had a huge garden in our house. After watering the plants, appa would hand over the tube to me, and I’d be there for hours together, playing in the water. Amma would call from office in the afternoons, and I would run around with the receiver in my hands, with both the paatis behind me!

Usually, children are tricked into eating food, and so was I. Making me eat was one big task. And both my paatis had their own tricks! One paati would ask me “Kaka eppidi vaaye tharakkum?” (How does the crow open its mouth?),“Singham eppid vaaye tharakkum?” (How does the lion open its mouth?),“Korungu eppidi vaaye tharakkum?” (How does the monkey open its mouth?) And each time, innocently, I would do “Aaaa” and off went the food in my mouth! The other paati, would take names of all my relatives, and feed me “Periappakku oru vaai” (One mouthful for uncle), “Attaikku oru vaai” (One mouthful for your aunt). My food would finish before the names did!

That’s a lot of memories now!

What were you doing ten years ago?

Umm…ten years ago, I was in the Third grade. The first year, when I started participating in activities! I remember having performed the play “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” I was the mama bear (being the tallest girl in class). I had just three dialogues:

“Someone’s been eating my porridge”

“Someone’s been sitting in my chair”

“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed too”

And we all felt so good after the thunderous round of applause, like it had been the most difficult character to play! I was also in the class choir (yes there was a time when I could sing, without fearing being beaten up for it!). The first song we performed was

“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens

Brown paper packages tied up with strings

These are a few of my favorite things…………..

When I’m feeling sad,

I simply remember my favorite things,

And then I don’t feel so bad”

And for the performance, we had to wear a white frock. I remember going around with amma, searching for that perfect frock, and finally we found it! A beautiful frock in white satin and lace, I still have it! How I felt like a princess singing the song!

And it was also the first time I danced on stage in the school annual day function. The teachers left us to do our own make-up. And none of us had any clue about it! So, for the blush, we took pink lipstick and used it on our cheeks. And there we were on stage, looking like clowns, with bright pink circles on our cheeks!

Around this time, we had been on a holiday to Coimbatore, and from there we were to proceed to Ooty. My aunt was to join us after her work got over, and we had 2-3- hours in hand. Just to pass time, amma, appa and myself, walked into a mini trade fair. There we walked into the silk stall, where the silk making process was on. Hundreds and thousands of cocoons were put in a big vessel of boiling water. One worm with a brave heart tried to escape, and it had reached up to the rim, struggling to get away. How many had lost the battle, we don’t know! I cried, and questioned innocently, if we had to do this just for a mere pattu pavadai (silk skirt) or pattu podavai (silk sari). We haven’t touched silk ever since.

Today

I am your regular college goer. Eco(H). Also, pursuing photography along with studies, something I’ve always wanted to do. There are many other things that I wanted to do, but I can’t devote enough time to them right now. But I will take them up later. My life's funda is:

“People with small minds talk about others

People with average minds talk about events

People with great minds talk about ideas”

Tomorrow

No, it’s a Monday! Not that I don’t like going to college, I hate the waking up early bit! Six days of college…yes, I have college on Saturdays too! :(

What do you see yourself doing 14 years from now?

Hopefully, location hunting for my next film! Also wish to be doing something for animals, poor creatures, they cannot even spell out their problems, and are the only ones who love faithfully! And basically, being good.

I remember having heard this song on radio once, and it got me thinking.

“Kabira jab paida hue

Toh jag hansa, hum roye

Aisi karni kar chalo

Hum hanse jag roye”

(When Kabira was born

The world laughed, we (Kabira) cried

Do such deeds in life that

The world cries and we(Kabira) smile)

That’s my guiding light for now!

If you had a time capsule, what would it contain?

Umm…tough question! I would like to take my entire family, all my friends (including my lovely blogging friends), a DSLR, a video camera (so I can preserve those beautiful moments :), Buddhe baba (so I can continue blogging), a computer mechanic (for Buddhe baba ;), Mani sir, so he can continue making beautiful and meaningful films, Rahman sir, so he can still be making soulful music, Kailash Kher, my favorite singer, and all of my dearest pets- the birds, dogs and the squirrels!

And, I am not tagging anyone. :)

My experiences with......

He looks at me sadly every time our eyes meet. He sits there, waiting to be loved. I call him buddhe baba (old man). His eyes cry for that long due retirement, he waits to be set free of burdens. We clean him sometimes, with soap and antiseptic liquid, but that’s almost like dying his hair black, he will still remain old and weak and fatigued. He visits the doctor almost every two months, but we insist that he should work with the same efficiency that he did nine years ago, when he first came to our house. I had fallen in love with him then, love at first sight, I still love him, but may be I am selfish now. He is feeling a little better now, and I want him to work well, for some time at least. I don’t want to let go of him…..my first love, my childhood friend, someone I’ve grown up with.....

I am mean but I love him…….am too attached to set him free……

He, my computer.

Finally.......it's done!!

Huh! Finally I can breathe! Yes, I have done it! I have learnt how to transfer photos from my cellphone onto my computer. You may be wondering "So, what's the big deal?". You are right, not a big deal for you, but a very big deal for me! : ) Here, I would like to thank Praveen, who said to me, "It's simple. Don't give up unless you try it once". And I tried it, and it worked! I would also like to thank all my school friends (especially MA and NS!!) who patiently taught me how to go about it! It has worked guys, thank you so much!

So, finally.....some pictures.....my photographic not-at-all genius!! : )

My first print... : )

In the Qutub Complex, the Iron Pillar. According to the traditional belief, any one who can encircle the entire column with their arms, with their back towards the pillar, can have their wish granted. Like in Cheeni Kum. : )

North Block, one of the prettiest buildings! : )

My friends at the zoo!

My animal friends at the zoo! This is perhaps my best print till date.... : )

Hope you enjoyed it, and guys thank you once again! This wouldn't have been possible without you....*sniff**sniff* : )

Adios Gentleman...

There is one man
Not often does God make one like him
A man of few words
But a man of great deeds

The innocence of a child
The wisdom of a saint
The skill of a surgeon
The courage to fight
The ambition to grow
The manliness in defeat
The heart to take it all
That heart of gold

We watched him teary eyed
As he took his final lap
In the end, hearts was all that mattered
And he had won them all!
He, the Perfect Gentleman.

Just an Update...

Life’s been busy all this week. College is going on in full swing, studies are getting tougher by the day, and there’s just about enough time to breathe. My next post is getting ready, but it will take sometime. Suddenly all teachers seem to remember about tests and assignments, something they had completely forgotten about in the first semester! And they tell us to submit them without putting the date, smart clever creatures!

Happy Diwali to all! Have a great time!

On the movie front, I am waiting for Fashion, Golmaal Returns and Dasvidaniya to release. I have great respect for Madhur Bhandarkar as a director, and I am sure he has come up with brilliant work this time too! I loved Golmaal, hope the sequel is able to match up to it! Dasvidaniya particularly catches my attention. The promos seem really promising and interesting, let’s wait and watch. Vinay Pathak’s my favorite, and the ‘Ma’ song is really sweet!

I have a family wedding coming up in November, and thankfully it’s here. My relatives would be coming over; it would be so much fun!

I was supposed to buy a second hand camera, unfortunately, by the time I could go, it got sold! I am feeling really sad! :(

Anyway, Happy Diwali once again! Have the time of your life, enjoy each moment!! I’ll post again soon!

Be good. Be happy.

Dasvidaniya! (It’s Russian for Good Bye….a beautiful word isn’t it?)

Filmy funda.....: )

Just thinking over a cup of coffee and listening to soothing instrumental music, I have come down to a conclusion about life.

Life is like a film. When we were born, God or whoever is up there if there is anyone at all, gave us unlimited reams of paper and told us that

“Here child. You have to write your own script”

And we work on it, day and night, for years together, writing each dialogue, setting each shot, the lighting, the location, the sound, our eyes are the camera, the characters, and we are the film maker. So basically, the script is the story of our lives, what we want in our story. The twists and turns make it entertaining. There are some tears, some smiles to make the characters believable.

In short, each of our lives is a complete masala entertainer, with the person up there being the audience as well as the critic.

When we die, it’s

THE END

Liked the film? No? We still have time to reshoot it!

Camera, lights, sound, ACTION!

Alright, my coffee is over now and I have to get back to reshoot mine! : )

Teary eyed...

After Chriz’s and Praveen’s posts, I have been really stirred up inside.

This post is written in complete darkness, it’s 1 in the night and my pen runs over a piece of paper forming a garland of alphabets.

I was thinking, if one day, on my death bed and a few breaths away from eternal peace, a child comes up to me and asks,

“You’ve been on this beautiful planet for so-and-so years and it has given you so much. How much have you given it?”

I wouldn’t want to be searching for words.

I would ideally want to give a gentle content smile and sleep…….

Some embarrassing moments... : )

I look back and laugh at these really embarrassing moments…

This incident took place when I was in the second grade and I am still shamed of it. One uncle used to visit us often, he was appa’s senior. He was an old man, a bachelor. He would come over for dinner sometimes. He would play cricket with me, I would throw the plastic ball and he would bat with a register. One day, I told him “I know why you visit us so frequently.”. He asked me why. And I told him “Because you get free dinner here”. I am so ashamed of myself. Uncle took it sportingly, but appa didn’t and shouldn’t have because it was a big mistake. That was one big lesson for me and he never visited us again. (Some of you might have already read this in my Childhood post).

This was when I was in the fifth grade. School had just reopened after the summer vacations. It was the art class and our art teacher asked us how many of us had been abroad during the vacations. Well, nearly the entire class raised their hands. Feeling left out and inferior, I raised my hand too! When it was my turn to say where I had been and how my experience was, I smartly said New Zealand, thinking that it was a “different” destination, and I could say anything about it and no one would know.

Well, the catch here?! My art teacher had taught in New Zealand for fifteen years before he joined us! His face lit up when I said New Zealand, and he asked me about God-knows-what places there! I was in a soup. I somehow ‘managed’ the situation by saying that it was appa’s business trip, and that we didn’t move out of the hotel at all!! I guess somewhere he realized that I was lying and didn’t probe further. He he ;D

I have this habit of telling amma everything that happened in school including my friends’ love lives or ‘crush lives’, so to say : )

Once we went on a school trip, and A (name changed…….obviously :) was the person handling everything, a manager of sorts.

I there with my two friends B and C. B and C were classmates, I was in a different section. Now, C liked A (who was an uncle! ; ) A liked to eat tomatoes in the salad form. C who hated tomatoes in any form, started eating them only because A likes them. C told B and me about her liking for A. Now, the trip was over, and C was over with A….well, she had no choice!

Amma and I met B in a market. There, amma asked B if C was still fond of tomatoes!! That easily wins the race for being the most embarrassing moment ever for me! Huh!

My friend M (a guy) had a crush on a girl whom we used to refer to as Essel World for reasons I would not like to disclose here ;P. M and me stayed in the same locality. Once, after a mock exam, M’s mother offered to drop me home. I was too happy. On the way, I asked aunty if she had ever been to Essel World (the one in Mumbai!).God! That was embarrassing and I still regret it. Aunty said nothing, she must have thought I am a little crazy. Imagine, if someone asks you, out of the blue, if you’ve been to Essel World!!

M was really angry with me and aunty never offered to drop me home after that : )

These were just some of the most embarrassing moments. Hope you had as much fun reading it as I had writing it! As and when, more such things happen, I'll keep you updated! : ) What's your most embarrassing moment??!

I want to know when is your birthday. So, please tell me. Mine is on the 2nd of August. The year of course, is not important... ;D

Dear Amma!!

Today, the 10 of October, is Amma's birthday! Happy birthday Ma! I would like to thank you for being the best mother in the world, and for bearing me for 18 long years! Love you!

This is a poem I wrote on Mother's Day when I was in Class VII. Our class teacher had asked each one of us to do something special, and I chose to write a poem. Amma has preserved this sheet till date and this poem is a reflection of the innocence and the purity I once had.

Dear Mom

You have heard every heartbeat of mine
And always stood on top of me like a pine
I know you will always keep me in line
Be it sixty years old or nine

You have been with me in my ups and downs
In my smiles and frowns
You've seen me wear my beautiful crown
In my beautiful dress which was brown

You will always protect me from evils
Let it be even rice weevils!
I know when you say you hate me
You actually love me even more

Sometimes your scoldings are like bitter gourd
I got you. I thank lord.
You are the home minister
Just exactly like a younger sister
Who cares and shares but never dares

I got you
I got everything
I didn't get you
I get nothing
To the most special person, my mom.

I would like to thank you ma for being the person that you are, for the things you've done as well as those that you haven't. Thank you for being there when I needed you the most, thank you for being my mother! I may not have been the best daughter in the world but you are certainly the best mother I could have asked for!

Thank you!

All about tags....

ANEESH’S TAG

This one’s a real toughie for me because it’s a movie tag and I am one big movie buff. I can watch anything from out-and-out masala to comedy to horror to action to arty fare. Alright, I watch everything : )

1. Name five of your all time favorite movies

After much thought, I have come up with

Chupke Chupke: This Hrishikesh Mukherjee film is one comedy caper with brilliant performances by Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Om Prakash, Amitabh Bachchan, Asrani and many others. A must watch.

Khatta Meetha: This Basu Chaterjee film is about a Parsi couple and their children. Lovely performances by the entire cast, watch out for Deven Verma’s cute act. Good music too, I just love the “thoda hai, thode ki zaroorat hai” song.

Satte pe Satta: I must have seen this movie at least 50 times. It’s a story about seven brothers. I think it’s based on a certain Hollywood movie. Hema Malini looks really cute and Amitabh Bachchan is the best brother anyone could ask for!

Pyaasa: This Guru Dutt film is a classic. Beautiful is the word which describes it. Great performances by Guru Dutt, Waheeda Rehman and Johnny Walker.

Masoom: This Shekhar Kapur film is a sensitive story about a wife who accepts her husband’s illegitimate child. Watch out for Shabana Azmi and Jugal Hansraj as the young Rahul. Masterpiece. Soulful music too, I love “tujhse naraaz nahin zindagi” as well as “lakdi ki kaathi…”.

2. Name one movie which you recommend as a must see.

This has to be Chupke Chupke. See it to believe it.

3. The one and only movie you’ve seen the most number of times (watching on TV won’t count)

This would be Taare Zameen Par (2 times). I like the TV and DVDs better.

5.Which movie comes to your mind when you say funniest movie?

Ummm……Golmaal (Old one with Amol Palekar, Bindiya Goswami and Utpal Dutt as well as the new one starring Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor (too good) and Sharman Joshi)

6. Which movie series according to you was as interesting as the first part in the series?

Dhoom series was good, waiting for Golmaal Returns.

7. Which movie, according to you, didn't live up to your expectations, after all the hype you've heard?

Oh many. Recently, Kidnap. To some extent, even Jaane tu ya jaane na, the music was amazing (it’s Rahman sir, what did you expect?!) but I didn’t think it was as great as was made out to be. How can I miss out Love Story 2050 in this!

8. Which movie really surprised you?

I saw this movie called “Life mein Kabhie kabhie” and I thought it was pretty good.

Yaay! So it’s finally done. I had fun! Thanks Aneesh!

PJ’s TAG

Google your name + needs and put what comes up

Tara needs a new nose – What’s wrong with the one I have right now? Weird.

Tara needs a fashion coach who will not let her outside the house until she appears close to normal - Huh what? You mean to say I don’t appear normal? He he this is funny… :)

Tara needs a workbench so that she doesn't ruin her table while working on projects – This is so true, my “study” table looks like an abstract painting, what with stickers, stars, spilt coffee stains, cello tape and loads of other things on it. :)

Tara needs to exercise – Again so true, I so need to exercise :)

Tara needs to learn how her children perceive her – Ahem ahem…..now this is going a little overboard…what children…..what perception…. :\

Tara needs to sit down and eat a burger and fries – Ah! I don’t mind this at all!

Tara needs the support of the cycling families she has cherished throughout her career – Kya? Cycling family?! *rolling down with laughter* Funny. Very. :)

Yaay! Tag finished! Thanks PJ! It was very entertaining! :)

I Me Myself

CAUTION: This post is long and can seem irritating at times. This being my 25th post, I wanted it to be Tara Uncensored. This is an unedited post, so please forgive me if I appear disoriented in places.

This is the way I think. This is the way I am.

A new light is breaking.

Change is continuity, a ceaseless flux. Change is life. Change can be growth. Change is everything.

As the Vedanta says, “Man renews himself every time he links himself with the Divine residing in his heart”. The Divine is you in your purest form. Your soul. Your conscience.

It is there in YOU, deep inside.

To connect with oneself, the divine in us, perhaps, is possible when we fail. Failure is that one thing that triggers change. When a battle is lost. When tears are cried. When a heart is broken. When a dream is shattered.

Failure makes you look up your armory, and understand why you lost the battle. Throw away the ineffective weapons and equip it with the deadliest ones. Then fight another battle and dream another dream.

It is the same with human qualities and emotions. What is not of use, throw it and imbibe those which you feel would help win the mind’s battle the next time around. Those which would help on a long term basis.

Change gives us that important chance to start anew, to refresh our life’s page. Failure is that license to start afresh, leaving everything behind and starting something new.

To live just one life in one life. Naah! That’s just not me.

This Tara I know is new. I don’t know if she’s improved, if she is better than the earlier edition, but she is different for sure.

I have broken some paradigms. Of others. Of myself. The attitude is new. The feel of fresh air. The warmth of a new sun. It’s me but it’s not me. There is a new found vigor, a vibrancy, a gait in the walk, a new smile, a new mind.

An enthusiasm to live, not just breathe.

Understood the worth of some people. The trivialness of many others. The value of relationships. The value of “being there”. The value of being honest to oneself. The value of everything.

Yes, some dreams got shattered. But my most cherished and the important dream is still there, alive and kicking. That is my aim. I have smaller dreams to take me closer to “that” dream. They would lead me there. The place where I want to be.

I have lost my faith in a few things. Started believing more in myself. Writing my own destiny. My own story.

It’s strange what time does to people. In such a short while…..

I liked what I was then. I love what I am now. I don’t know what I’ll be tomorrow.

As Proust says, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes but in having new eyes” and as Ralph Blum says, “Nothing is predestined: The obstacles of your past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings”,

I am seeing the world through a new pair of eyes and I like what I see. But most importantly, I love the new eyes and the person who is watching.
