Destiny's Child

There is this girl I know
Who puts up a brave show

A sportswoman by heart

Until her voice did depart

She shrieked and jumped

and twirled around;

but now she makes no sound

She used to shout "what the heck?"

Now walks with a scarf around her neck
Dad, ran she to meet him afloat

On the way a string cut her throat

Three times did she win the best

sportsperson award;

For her hardwork and consistence

she got the reward

She used to say,

"We all have to die one day"

And I would wonder

At her age so tender

Yet giving philosophical prophecies

and handling them with such ease
She does inspire

A passion, a desire

To pursue what feels right

Without any guilt or fright

Always full of cheer

A beautiful mind, so clear

Dazzling as a diamond was she

In search of her destiny

She came back to school, after a long absence

I watched her, in reverence, from a distance

She did smile as any other day

Oh God! May all good things in life come her way
The head that has bowed to none
Bows to you the special one

Hats off girl! Hats off !!

(The above poem is based on a true incident, although with certain modifications. It's perhaps one of my best pieces, and written for one of my very dear friends :)

well...legends are not specially made on order...each and every human being has it inside them...all it takes are the circumstances and a strong character...
